Trauma Therapy and Narcissistic Abuse Recovery

Compassionate Support for Individuals and Couples Seeking Healing and Meaningful Change

Meet Sara Brown, MA, LPCC

I’m a trauma-informed therapist who works with adults and couples healing from experiences of acute trauma, chronic trauma, and narcissistic abuse. My approach draws from EMDR, Brainspotting, and IFS to help you understand how past experiences may be shaping your emotions, relationships, and sense of self today. I offer a warm, compassionate, and collaborative space where we can explore what you’ve experienced with curiosity rather than judgment. Healing doesn’t have to be something you navigate alone.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy offers a supportive space to slow down, make sense of what you're carrying, and reconnect with yourself. My trauma-informed approach draws from Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, and other body- and nervous-system-informed practices to help you understand the parts of yourself shaped by past experiences, develop greater self-compassion, and create meaningful change.

EMDR Trauma Therapy

I help individuals who have experienced acute or chronic trauma(s) through EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). EMDR helps the brain process experiences that still feel emotionally or physically “stuck.” Together, we work to reduce the intensity of distressing memories, beliefs, and triggers while creating greater emotional regulation, self-trust, and a sense of safety in the present.

Brainspotting Trauma Therapy

Brainspotting is a powerful, body-based approach that helps access and process experiences stored in the subcortical part of the brain that may be difficult to reach through words alone. By working with your natural nervous system responses, we create space for deeper healing, increased self-awareness, and relief from patterns that may have been shaped by trauma.

Narcissistic Abuse Therapy

I help individuals healing from patterns of relational antagonism and narcissistic abuse to process the narratives and impact of narcissistic abuse, establish healthy boundaries, and reconnect with a sense of identity and self-trust.

Couples Therapy

Relationships can bring both our greatest joy and our deepest wounds to the surface. With training in the Gottman method, I help couples integrate insight and skills to understand relational patterns, improve communication, repair ruptures, and build greater trust, safety, and emotional connection with one another.

Couples EMDR

Trauma can shape the way we connect, communicate, trust, and respond to one another. Couples EMDR may be especially helpful when unresolved individual or relational trauma continues to shape the way partners respond to one another, even when they understand the patterns intellectually. It aims to help partners address individual and relational wounds, reduce reactivity, and create a more secure and connected relationship.
